Although people will search for external stimulation, true and sustainable motivation must come from within. Learning to motivate yourself is the most important way to ensure success. Self-motivation is something many claim to have, however few can perform to the highest of standards without incentives from others. You have direct control of your engagement as your “will” is the the starting point for all of your success. Here are some questions and answers from an established sales professional that will help you self-motivate yourself in 2017 and beyond.

What are the most valuable tips and tricks that most influenced you, your friends and family recently?

Set realistic goals for yourself both personally and professionally. With that said, put together a list of your main priorities each day and goals for each week and each month. The simple fact that knowing what you are trying to achieve makes getting there more attainable and realistic. Make sure your goals are manageable and within reach, or you may risk setting yourself up for disappointment or burning yourself out.

How would you illustrate your life hacks so that people will buy into them and apply them in their daily lives?

Each goal should have a beginning, middle, and end. The end being was the goal achieved, yes or no. The beginning should be the set-up while the middle is the action to achieve the desired result. Again they should be realistic and attainable so you’re not set up for failure. Life hacks only work if they assist you in reaching your goal in less than the normal time it takes. Since time is the most valuable commodity, by saving time, your given a gift to spend doing other things that will assist you in reaching other goals or frankly spending that as you see fit. The gift of time is precious and should not be squandered as we’re all given the same 24 hours in a day. What you do with the time is what makes the difference.

How are they different from tips and tricks suggested by other articles online? If they aren’t different, how would you present them to make them unique?

They are different since they are very straight-forward. Most people offer advice and make it complicated so it sounds fancy. This is binary, you either achieve your goal or not. Success is not a halfway endeavor, you need to be “all in,” otherwise you will not get what you truly desire. The motivation industry is a multi-billion dollar-a-year machine as they make money hand over fist charging thousands of dollars for seminars. Yes some may provide value, however, it all begins and ends with you. Save your money and go for the realistic goal, achieve that said goal, and enjoy the win. Then from there go after a larger goal with an acceptable time frame. Success does not have a watershed moment like you would think. It’s a daily grind that pieces together many small wins to influence a larger result.
