Make Your Own Automatic Pet Feeder

Written by Jill Harness

Automatic pet feeders can be amazing (assuming your furry friend isn’t a total glutton), but they can also be a bit pricey, especially the larger ones that hold a lot of food. But did you know you can just make your own automatic pet feeder with nothing but a large, plastic kitty litter container, a small plastic tray or aluminum pie pan, scissors, an exacto knife and a hot glue gun?

The process is pretty simple, just cut the tray, cut the litter container and then glue the pieces in. You can see the entire process in this useful tutorial video that happens to feature a fantastic soundtrack:

Of course, those with pets known to over-indulge should stick with their regularly-scheduled, well-portioned meals lest you not end up with an empty bucket and a very bloated pet.
