Nancy Solari is an inspiring example of living the life you want with a positive mind-set, regardless of the challenges you face—and she is no stranger to adversity. During Nancy’s childhood and teenage years, she witnessed domestic violence, her parents’ divorce, her sisters’ battle with eating disorders, and her mother’s fight against breast cancer. Unfortunately, the trials she experienced continued and at the age of sixteen, Nancy was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa: a progressive retinal disease that leads to blindness. Over the years, Nancy experienced subtle yet significant vision loss, but rather than allowing the disease and her painful past to dissuade her from following her dreams, she chose to persevere. Along her journey, Nancy obtained a BA in broadcasting and psychology from the University of Oregon. After graduation, she worked in production for Good Morning America and Entertainment Tonight, had a successful singing career, and was a top-producing Realtor in Southern California. As her life progressed and she adapted to increasing blindness, Nancy continued to endure through immense challenges: sexual harassment in the music industry, financial instability, battling suicide, infidelity, and miscarriages. Rather than allowing these difficulties to crush her passionate spirit, Nancy remained optimistic, turning hardships into growth and harnessing her experiences as fuel to guide others in overcoming their own obstacles. Moved to create change in her community, Nancy assisted people suffering from similar eye conditions by volunteering for organizations like the Foundation Fighting Blindness. She has participated in research studies to develop cures for retinal disease, and also served as a counselor for Sexual Assault Support Services. Although Nancy felt passionate about her previous professions, she realized she desired more from life: a career that worked with, not against, her blindness. She then obtained a life coaching degree from the Institute for Professional Empowerment Coaching, and in 2008 launched Living Full Out with the intention of helping others to realize their dreams. Nancy now shares her tools for success with audiences and organizations all around the country. In addition to writing books and personal coaching, Nancy is an accomplished speaker, reaching diverse audiences who enthusiastically embrace the principles of Living Full Out. She has presented for organizations such as National Ticketing Association, Boston Scientific, Braille Institute Library, National Retail Federation and many more. Nancy currently hosts the national radio show, Living Full Out with Nancy Solari, which features inspiring guests and attracts callers seeking tangible advice and motivation. Her life experiences and education provide Nancy with the unique ability to empathize with people while also guiding them in attaining their goals. Though today she is legally blind, Nancy continues to embrace the unknown with passion. She enjoys spending time with her trusty service dog, Charlie; staying healthy; traveling and connecting with people of all cultures; and always reaching out to meet the next life challenge with a smile on her face.
