Jennifer R. Farmer is an author, trainer and strategic communications adviser. She is the author of the forthcoming book, "First and Only: How Black Women Thrive" and the book, “Extraordinary PR, Ordinary Budget: A Strategy Guide” (Berrett-Koehler). When she is not writing or working with executives, Farmer is an enthusiastic trainer, workshop presenter and event facilitator. She has developed and facilitated communications workshops for entities such as the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, Our Revolution, VA Women’s Business Conference, Western States Center, Faith in Action and many more. Additionally, she has lectured at Johns Hopkins University Krieger School of Arts and Sciences on spokesperson development and polling for strategic communications. Farmer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. A proud alum, Farmer is a member of the University of Rochester Board of Trustees’ Diversity Advisory Council and was recently tapped to serve on the university’s Alumni Committee for the Vice President of Equity and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer search.
