Mobile Flashback: A Look At Cell Phones Through The Ages

Great things come in small packages. Innovation has proven this throughout the ages thanks in no small part to enterprising visionaries like Steve Jobs. The iPhone, for example, was light-years ahead of its predecessors in terms of ergonomics and functionality. But, as this timeline shows us, it took 25 years to go from a 22-pound heavyweight like the Mobira Senator (the world’s first car phone) to a computer in your pocket. And if you thought $600 was a lot in 2007, at least you were not shelling out over $6,000 for what amounts to a glorified radio by today’s standards!
