13 Signs You Will Die Happy

Written by Sebastian Eguez

Although many people fear death and dying, what they really fear is not knowing whether or not they will die happy.  There are many things that you do throughout your life that could be what makes up that difference. Here, you will learn about 13 signs that you are likely to die happy.

1. You Are 100% Honest With Yourself

What many people don’t realize is that ‘honesty is the best policy.’ Not only is it important to be honest with other people in your day-to-day interactions, but it’s important for you to be honest with yourself. In fact, you are the most important person to be honest with. Having the ability to be honest with yourself will allow you to live life openly and freely, assuring you die happy.

2. You Do Your Best All the Time

It’s true that you’re not always going to win in life. There are days that just aren’t going to go your way, but knowing that you’ve done your absolute best to complete a task, or to help others, or whatever it is you do in life, is also assurance that you will die happy.

3. You Work To Overcome Your Fears

Everybody fears something at some point in their life. Having the ability to overcome your fears is another sign that you will die happy. Whether you’re afraid of the dark, and you spend 5 minutes per day in it, or you’re afraid of heights, and you climb a two story ladder and look down, you’ve accomplished something, and that’s why you will die happy.

4. You Embrace Life Through Both Happiness & Misery

Not every day is going to be a great day. You will have bad days. You will have days that you just don’t think you’ll ever make it through. However, if you can overcome those negative feelings and embrace the day you have been given – whether bad or good – you will die happy.

5. You Create Happiness in Others Through Kindness

Another sign that you’ll die happy is that you are a kind person. Being kind helps create happiness for others, which in turn, creates happiness for yourself.

6. You Appreciate Your Loved Ones

Many times people take for granted the people closest to them. If you want to die happy, you’ll need to turn your life around and start appreciating the people you love. Make a point to say thank you, please, and I love you on a regular basis. Ask their thoughts, opinions, and just let them know you’re there.

7. You Appreciate What You Have

If you automatically think about material things, you’re not on the right track to die happy. Those who appreciate the finer things in life – family, loved ones, friends, a job, and more are the ones who can assure they will die happy.

8. You Forgive Yourself

Even if you do your best and try to bring happiness to others, and are completely honest with yourself, you will still make mistakes. Allowing yourself to forgive yourself will ensure that you die happy.

9. You Live a Fulfilling Life

If you try new things, embrace what you have, and enjoy each and every day, you live a fulfilling life. It is those who seek and strive to do meaningful things day in and day out, and those are the ones who will die happy

10. You Forgive Those That Hurt You

Forgiveness is a difficult thing. This is especially true when someone hurts you, particularly those you love the most. However, in order to die a happy person, you need to find it in your heart to forgive them for what they have done to you, no matter how difficult that may be.

11. You Accomplish Your Goals & Dreams

Everybody sets goals for themselves and has dreams. Those who actually work hard to achieve those goals and experience their dreams will die happy individuals.

12. You Let Love into Your Heart

Love is an amazing feeling, although often indescribable. Although many people say they don’t need love, they are indeed wrong and unaware of the love they do feel. Whether it’s loving your family, your friends, your spouse, or your children, or even your pets, everyone experiences love. Allowing love into your heart will help you be able to die happy.

13. You Let Others Love You

Just as it is important for you to love others, it is equally important for you to let others love you. Being a genuinely nice person, offering help, loving, and caring for others will allow them to love you in return. Being able to be loved, cared about, and thought about regularly will help you die a happy person.
